THE LINEUP

SIX PEOPLE.
ONE SOUND.

Different jobs, one arrangement. The useful part is what happens when the roles overlap.

Gu Jiatong

Lead Guitar · Founder

Gu Jiatong

Jiatong takes the lead-guitar role in KARVED: solos, melodic lines, lead hooks and a lot of the details that sit above the main rhythm parts. He is also heavily involved in arranging the guitar sections and shaping tones for different songs, especially when a set moves between cleaner parts, classic-rock sounds and heavier metal tones. With three guitars in the band, his job is not to play over everything — it is to know when the lead should step forward and when it should leave space for the song.

Anne Chowdary Ujjwal

Rhythm Guitar

Anne Chowdary Ujjwal

Chowdary is one of KARVED’s two rhythm guitarists. He carries the main chord and riff foundation underneath the lead parts, helping the band keep its weight when the arrangements get busy. His part is especially important in songs where the lead guitar breaks away for a solo or melody: the rhythm cannot disappear underneath it. He also helps turn songs written for fewer guitars into arrangements that make sense with KARVED’s three-guitar lineup.

Ethan Lee

Rhythm Guitar

Ethan Lee

Ethan Lee is KARVED’s second rhythm guitarist, but the role is deliberately flexible. Alongside the core rhythm parts, he can move into harmony lines, doubled melodies and supporting lead phrases when a song needs another layer. That gives the band room to use two-part guitar harmonies without sacrificing the rhythm underneath them. In simpler sections he can lock in with Anne Chowdary Ujjwal for a wider guitar sound; in more layered sections, the two rhythm guitars can split into different parts around Gu Jiatong’s lead.

David Ong

Bass · Co-Founder

David Ong

David handles bass and is the connection between the guitar wall and the drums. Rather than simply copying every guitar note, the bass gives the riffs their low-end weight and helps define the groove underneath them. His role becomes especially noticeable in quieter passages and transitions, where the guitars have more space and the rhythm section has to keep the song moving. As KARVED develops its own material, the bass is also becoming a bigger part of how the arrangements are built instead of being added at the end.

Lucas Toh

Drums · Co-Founder

Lucas Toh

Lucas is the drummer and the timekeeper behind KARVED’s live set. He has to hold together everything from slower clean sections to heavier riffs, fills and sudden transitions while keeping three guitars, bass and vocals in the same pocket. He is also a big part of how the band builds energy live: where a fill lands, how long a transition breathes and how hard a chorus arrives can completely change a song. During guitar changes and live resets, the drums also help make the set feel continuous rather than like a playlist being stopped and started.

Ethan Goy

Vocals

Ethan Goy

Ethan Goy handles lead vocals and gives the band a centre when the instrumental arrangement gets dense. KARVED’s set moves through very different styles, so the vocal role is less about forcing every song into one metal voice and more about keeping the melody and character of each track intact. He works over a three-guitar arrangement that can get large very quickly, which means the band has to build around the vocal rather than bury it. On stage, he is also the member connecting the songs to the room while the rest of the band handles the instrumental changes behind him.
