The original three.
KARVED was founded by Gu Jiatong, with co-founders Lucas Toh and David Ong. Gu Jiatong is the band’s lead guitarist, Lucas Toh is the drummer, and David Ong is the bassist. Those three form the original core of the band.
THE STORY SO FAR
CARVED
IN STAGES.
A short version of how the band went from “we should play something” to actual shows and an album in progress.
The stage changes the standard.
The first real stages exposed everything: dead air, tuning changes, messy starts, parts nobody was covering. Useful problems to have.
A tighter lineup and a bigger set.
The lineup settled. The lineup expanded around the original core. Ethan Goy handles vocals, while Anne Chowdary Ujjwal and Ethan Lee are the rhythm guitarists. Ethan Lee can also add harmonies and supporting lead lines when an arrangement needs them. Rehearsals started being about the whole show, not six separate songs.
LIMINAL takes over.
With another live chapter behind us, the main job now is LIMINAL — our first proper album-shaped project, not just another cover set.
